Immersive technologies refer to software and hardware systems that allow users to replace or expand physical environments in order to get more information than real surroundings can offer. These technologies include virtual (VR), augmented (AR), and mixed reality (MR). While augmented reality superimposes the existing environment with the additional layer of content, VR implies the complete replacement of the physical surrounding with the virtual one. On the other hand, MR forms another separate layer of content within the existing environment. You can learn more about these technologies in the Immersive category of the CyberPulse blog.
