iOS is a mobile operating system created by Apple in 2007 for mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, media players, smart watches, and the Apple Carplay in-car infotainment system. The New York Times reports that the iOS ecosystem is to generate $1 trillion at the end of 2018. Unlike Android, Apple licenses its mobile operating system for their own devices only. As of 2018, the final 12 iOS version has a faster performance, Siri shortcuts, screen time, and revamped Maps app. To build mobile apps for iOS-based devices, developers use Xcode, the official software development kit (SDK) created by Apple.
